How to Start Windows 98 From Command Prompt

Microsoft’s Windows 98 is a consumer-oriented operating system built as part of the Windows 9x series of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Windows 98, the second operating system in the 9x family, was delivered to manufacturers on May 15, 1998, and to retailers on June 25, 1998.
It is the successor to Windows 95. It is a hybrid 16-bit and 32-bit product with an MS-DOS-based boot stage, similar to its predecessor.
Windows 98 is a web-integrated operating system with significant parallels to its predecessor. A few features were added to boost system functionality and capabilities, including improved USB connectivity and accessibility, as well as support for hardware innovations like DVD players.
Windows 98 was the first version of Windows to adopt the Windows Driver Model and to introduce features that would become standard in subsequent Windows versions, such as Disk Cleanup, Windows Update, support for multiple monitors, and Internet Connection Sharing.
Microsoft advertised Windows 98 as a “tune-up” to Windows 95, as opposed to a completely redesigned successor to Windows. Upon debut, it was generally well-received for its web-integrated interface and user-friendliness, as well as its resolution of Windows 95-related bugs, while some critics noted that it was not considerably more stable than its predecessor.
Windows 98 sold an estimated 58 million licences and received one significant update, Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), which was released on 5 May 1999. After the release of Windows Me in 2000, the mainstream support for Windows 98 and 98 SE terminated on June 30, 2002, followed by extended support on July 11, 2006.
