Dragon Age II is an action role-playing video game released in 2011 by Electronic Arts and developed by BioWare (EA). It is the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and the second main installment in the Dragon Age series (2009).
In the setting of Thedas, players adopt the character of Hawke, a human wizard, rogue, or warrior who lands in Kirkwall as a refugee and becomes the city’s renowned champion during a decade of political and social struggle. From a third-person perspective, players explore and engage in combat in the game.
Numerous companions play significant parts in the plot and gameplay of the game. Depending on the choices and dialogue of the player, a companion will either recognize Hawke as a friend or as an adversary.
BioWare began development of the game with the creation of the Origins expansion pack Awakening. EA provided the team with only 14 to 16 months to complete the game’s production, requiring them to crunch for an extended period and reuse assets.
BioWare opted to make Origins’ gameplay more action-packed after considering player comments and reviews of the game. They renamed the Eclipse Engine Lycium in order to improve the game’s aesthetics and lighting and to fit a new graphical style inspired by films such as Yojimbo and Conan. Mike Laidlaw, David Gaider, and Inon Zur returned to their respective roles as chief designer, author, and composer.
The game was announced in July 2010 and released in March 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and OS X. The game garnered generally excellent reviews from critics, who commended its gameplay, companions, and writing; but, alterations to the game’s narrative structure and combat system were met with a more divided response. Widespread criticism around the confined setting and rehashed assets.
However, more than a million copies were sold in less than two weeks, which was a quicker rate of sales than its predecessor. BioWare promoted the game’s release with multiple downloadable content packs. In November 2014, the sequel Dragon Age: Inquisition was released.
is dragon age 2 worth playing 2022
It was somewhat simplified, but the combat was quite enjoyable. I also enjoyed Dragon Age 2. It was somewhat simplified, but the combat was quite enjoyable. For me, DA2 appears incomplete and fragmented, and its chaotic plot is quite linear, etc. I hoped for something better after I played beginnings.
