One of the most crucial building materials is cement. Concrete is utilized in various types of construction, most notably in the building of homes and roads, while cement serves as the binder for concrete. One of Nigeria’s largest cement producers is Dangote Cement. With a wide network of strategically placed depots and distributors throughout Nigeria, Dangote Cement adopted an integrated strategy for cement manufacturing and distribution in order to best serve its clients.

 

After graduating, he returned to Nigeria, where in 1977 the modest trade company Dangote Group was created. Prior to that, he had obtained a loan from his uncle and utilized it to start his own cement trading company. Later on, he changed the business into the Dangote Group in 1981. Dangote expanded his business between 1980 and 1990 to include sugar, fish, milk, flour, rice, etc.

As he gained experience in manufacturing, he was able to seize an opportunity to satisfy the demands of customers in Nigeria’s then-exploding economy and expanding population. In 1999, Dangote expanded his company by including flour mills, salt and sugar refineries, and a pasta factory. The largest cement plant in Sub-Saharan Africa, Obajana, was officially opened by him a year later.
